What is Cambria?

Cambria is a natural quartz surface that offers many uses in your home including countertops, wet bars, showers, vanities, fireplace surrounds, and floor tiles. Cambria quartz is one of hardest minerals found on Earth. Cambria looks and feels like granite, but its performance exceeds granite in both durability and strength. Cambria quartz countertops are nonporous so they won’t absorb liquids and food like granite countertops do, and are also maintenance free.

How does Cambria compare to granite?

Cambria is a natural stone made from 93% quartz. Quartz is a hard mineral that gives Cambria its strength and durability. Granite is a softer stone, made from only 40% to 60% quartz in addition to several other impurities and softer minerals. Cambria surfaces feel and look like granite, but it’s stronger, nonporous, and maintenance free. All you need to do is wash it with warm water and mild soap. Cambria quartz surfaces are stain resistant and never need reconditioning or sealing. Granite is a porous natural stone and has to be chemically sealed one to two times a year as the seal wears off. Granite can also absorb food and liquids, increasing the potential for bacteria to grow within the countertop.

How does Cambria’s price compare to other stone surfaces?

Cambria quartz prices can be compared to granite and other natural stone surfaces. We offer competitive prices to install Cambria countertops in your home.

Is Cambria a natural stone?

Yes. Cambria is pure quartz. Cambria is made from quartz, which is a very hard mineral that offers more strength than granite. Granite is composed of 40% to 60% natural quartz, in addition to other impurities and softer minerals. Our unique process results in a natural quartz product that is both beautiful and strong. Cambria quartz is also nonporous and stronger than granite.

Is Cambria made or manufactured in a plant?

Cambria is made by combining pure quartz stone with a small amount of resin and pigment. Cambria quartz surfaces are then made into slabs that are compact, strong, and nonporous.

What can Cambria be used for?

We can install Cambria surfaces as kitchen countertops, shower and tub surrounds, bathroom vanities, accent pieces, wet bar areas, window sills, and furniture tabletops. Cambria quartz is available in 1, 2, and 3 cm thicknesses. There are several edge profiles that can create the illusion of a thicker quartz slab.

What are the unique benefits of Cambria?

GUARANTEED – When we install Cambria countertops in your home, you’ll receive a Lifetime Limited Warranty.

Does Cambria require care and maintenance?

No. Cambria quartz surfaces don’t require any polishing, sealing or reconditioning. All you need to do is wipe the surface with warm water and soap. Since Cambria quartz is nonporous, it doesn’t require to be sealed and is also stain resistant.

Are Cambria countertops resistant to surface damage?

Cambria countertops are more durable and resistant to surface damage than other natural stones. However, no natural stone is chip proof if damaged by enough force. Objects that hit the edges, particularly near dishwashers and sinks could cause the surface to chip. Even though minor slips of a knife will not damage Cambria, no stone is scratch-proof. Surface markings are less apparent on multi-colored surfaces than on monotone designs.

Does Cambria withstand heat? Can I put a hot pan or pot on it?

Any natural stone surfaces can be damaged if there is a rapid or sudden change in temperature, especially if it’s near the edges or direct heating on the top of the surface. Cambria quartz countertops may not be able to withstand the direct transfer of heat from pans, pots, and other cooking units such as a griddle, electric frying pan, crock pot or heating lamp. It is recommended that you use a trivet or a hot pad to prevent excessive from heat transferring to the surface.

Is Cambria resistant to staining?

Cambria quartz surface is nonporous, nonabsorbent and resists stains without needing to be chemically sealed. Cambria’s nonporous surface reduces the potential risk of bacterial growth from food and liquids absorbing into the countertop.

Is Cambria safe for food preparation?

Yes. Cambria quartz surfaces are nonporous and are NSF* 51 certified for splash zones and food preparation areas in commercial kitchens. You will not find a safer countertop when you need to prepare meals. *NSF International is The Public Health and Safety Company
