In the heart of Carmichael, CA, a master bathroom has been reimagined as a modern sanctuary that seamlessly blends comfort, luxury, and function. Completed in May by America’s Dream HomeWorks—a family-owned company with over 20 years of remodeling expertise—this remodel involved a complete transformation of both structure and style. What began as a dated and compartmentalized bathroom evolved into a light-filled, contemporary retreat tailored to modern living. The clients’ vision was clear from the beginning, and with consistent collaboration, the space came to reflect a refined, highly personalized design solution.
The renovation began with major structural modifications: the removal of part of a non-load-bearing wall to create a new entrance, and the partial removal of a wall enclosure. These changes dramatically improved flow, openness, and accessibility. A reconfigured layout made room for a striking new design, delivering an elevated daily experience that emphasizes both function and freedom of movement.
To further enhance usability, the new entrance was positioned for maximum convenience, seamlessly connecting the bathroom with adjacent spaces. The elimination of visual obstructions expanded sightlines across the room, amplifying the natural light already introduced through strategic lighting design. Every wall modification was carefully calculated to maintain structural integrity while dramatically improving aesthetics and circulation.
A total of 12 LED lights were strategically installed to provide warm, ambient lighting throughout the space, making the new layout feel bright, expansive, and inviting. These lights were carefully placed to highlight architectural features, enhance mirrors and vanity use, and bring warmth to cooler tones in the stone and tile. The space also gained a powerful Panasonic fan for moisture control and air circulation—an essential element for maintaining longevity in luxury bathroom materials, as well as improving everyday comfort. This attention to lighting ensures the bathroom is functional and atmospheric throughout the day.
The centerpiece of the bathing area is the Signature Hardware Treece 60″ Acrylic Freestanding Tub, complemented by the elegant Greyfield Floor Mounted Tub Filler Faucet. These selections not only offer visual drama but also comfort and ergonomic support. The adjacent shower was completely rebuilt with a new shower base and walls, all clad in four full slabs of Dekton Sandik (1.2cm matte finish), offering both natural stone beauty and unmatched durability. The seamless joints and full-panel installation create a monolithic look that’s sleek and easy to maintain.
Shower plumbing fixtures, also from the Signature Hardware Greyfield collection, maintain consistency in style with modern matte black finishes. A new Signature Hardware wall-mounted toilet from TOTO offers a sleek, space-saving design with dual flush functionality—adding both elegance and efficiency. This fixture not only contributes to the minimalist aesthetic but also saves valuable square footage, reinforcing the layout’s spatial efficiency.
The vanity was expertly refaced using the DreamLine Segue Painted Wood Veneer series in a crisp Blanco finish. The Cascade MP-213 door style brings clean lines and subtle detailing, allowing the cabinetry to feel both fresh and timeless. Matte black pulls (P-86374-BK) were added for a bold contrast that elevates the entire look. Every design element was coordinated to provide a polished yet inviting appearance.
The countertops were upgraded to 2cm Dekton Limbo—an elegant surface known for its durability, heat resistance, and soft stone-like texture. Dual Kohler Caxton sinks and Signature Hardware Greyfield matte black faucets complete the ensemble, combining form and function in every detail. The long-lasting materials are ideal for a high-traffic primary bathroom that must balance beauty with heavy daily use.
New flooring throughout the space was installed using Cortona Glacial, which delivers a neutral tone with a subtle texture that complements both the cabinetry and Dekton surfaces. This selection not only enhances the visual flow of the room but also offers durability and slip resistance for daily use. The soft finish underfoot adds to the comfort of the bathroom, creating a seamless blend between tactile and visual satisfaction.
Additional accessories and design details, such as towel bars, robe hooks, and coordinated shower glass hardware, were all carefully selected to maintain consistency with the black matte theme. Every corner of the bathroom—from tub to toilet to tile—was purposefully chosen to match a cohesive design narrative.
One of the defining strengths of this remodel was the strong collaboration between our team and the homeowners. Designer Michael Fl. worked closely with the clients to develop a vision rooted in elegance and functionality. Project managers Bogdan and Dima from DB Custom brought that vision to life with flawless execution, while Angela G. coordinated every detail to ensure seamless communication and efficiency.
