Contemporary Hallway Bathroom Remodel in Davis, CA
In the heart of Davis, CA, a once-outdated hallway bathroom has undergone a stunning transformation thanks to the expert team at America’s Dream HomeWorks. Completed in May, this project focused on blending functionality with timeless style, resulting in a serene and thoughtfully designed space ideal for daily living.
A Bold New Layout with Smart Modifications
One of the most striking aspects of this remodel was the structural change in layout. By removing the winged wall between the tub and the existing shower and converting it into a sleek pony wall, the bathroom gained a sense of openness without sacrificing privacy. The updated structure allowed for better spatial flow and a more cohesive look throughout.
The original shower was fully demolished to the studs and replaced with a custom tile shower base built from the ground up. Finished with a beautiful herringbone pattern in Halo Grey from Arizona Tile’s S-Series, the base adds a sense of craftsmanship and texture to the room. Matching herringbone tile on the floor ensures continuity and adds subtle visual interest.
Elegant Tilework and Elevated Details
Throughout the bathroom, the team used Prestigio Calcatta Lucido 24” x 48” tiles from Elysium to finish the shower walls, bench, and tub wainscoting. These large-format tiles mimic the luxurious look of marble with high gloss and refined veining, elevating the space into a spa-like retreat. The crisp white with soft grey veining pairs beautifully with the cabinetry and countertop.

Bathroom Lighting Ideas for Modern Homes: A Story of Subtle Impact and Simplified Style

Choosing the Perfect Bathroom Flooring for Your Home
Custom Cabinetry That Completes the Space
The vanity was updated using the Custom Cabinetry DreamLine Segue Painted Wood Veneer System, finished in Cape-May-Cobblestone and paired with a classic shaker door style. The soft neutral tone of the cabinetry grounds the space and introduces warmth. Topped with Cambria’s Smithfield 3CM polished quartz countertop, the vanity is not only stunning but practical—offering easy maintenance and long-lasting durability.
Finishing touches like the undermount Kohler Caxton K-20000-0 sink and Moen Align T6193BG faucet in a luxe brushed gold finish contribute to a clean, modern look that’s both functional and fashionable.
Lighting and Ventilation Enhancements
Lighting played a critical role in enhancing this remodel’s ambiance. Two LED can lights now provide bright general illumination, while three wall-mounted Moen Iso sconce lights offer task lighting with designer flair. The combination of these layers allows the homeowner to shift easily between bright functional light and softer mood lighting, depending on the time of day or task at hand.
Ventilation was also upgraded with the installation of a new Panasonic fan, ensuring the space remains fresh and free from moisture buildup—an essential element for long-term bathroom care.
Thoughtful Storage and Design Efficiency
A key part of this bathroom remodel was optimizing storage without adding clutter. Carefully placed cabinetry and drawer inserts ensure that every personal care item has a designated space. This design strategy not only enhances daily use but also keeps the bathroom feeling organized and stress-free.
The pony wall introduced in the layout not only adds visual openness but also serves as a functional divider. It subtly separates the tub area from the new shower base, giving both areas their own defined use while maintaining the overall openness of the space.
Finishing Touches that Matter
From the precision of tile placement to the rich tones of the brushed gold fixtures, no detail was overlooked. The herringbone flooring, sleek shaker cabinetry, and wall-mounted sconces come together in a unified design language that feels both intentional and effortless. Each fixture and finish was chosen to support both the visual appeal and long-term functionality of the bathroom.
The blend of soft neutrals and warm metallics creates a harmonious palette that’s modern yet timeless. This careful color coordination allows the space to feel clean, welcoming, and adaptable to future decor updates.
A Seamless, High-Touch Process
The entire remodel was managed by Best Quality’s Alex with design by Michael Fl and coordination by Angela G. Their shared commitment to clear communication and quality work was evident from start to finish. This project, like many others completed by America’s Dream HomeWorks, reflects the strong collaboration between our team and customers that leads to truly personalized and polished results.
From layout changes to fine material selections, every detail of this hallway bathroom was crafted with care and intention. The result is a space that’s fresh, functional, and full of timeless appeal—an investment in everyday comfort and style.
Lasting Value Through Personalized Design
This remodel wasn’t just about aesthetics—it was a tailored solution designed with the homeowner’s lifestyle in mind. The team at America’s Dream HomeWorks paid close attention to how the space would be used day-to-day, ensuring each element was not only beautiful but also highly functional. Personalized consultations throughout the project allowed the client’s vision to shine through in every design decision.
Seamless Flow with Complementary Materials
By using materials that echo one another—such as the repeated use of herringbone tile and brushed gold finishes—the design achieved a seamless, uninterrupted flow. These material choices also help create visual unity between different bathroom zones, tying together the vanity, shower, and tub areas in a sophisticated and understated way.
A Home Investment Built to Last
Beyond the immediate visual upgrade, this remodel significantly improved the home’s long-term value. High-end materials, expert craftsmanship, and intentional layout planning mean this bathroom will retain its elegance and utility for years to come. It’s more than a remodel—it’s a true investment in comfort, efficiency, and home pride.
